Ukraine's ambassador will be called to MAE

Ukraine's Ambassador might be called today at MAE so that Minister Mircea Geoana can present him the viewpoint of Romania authorities referring to the making of the Bystroe canal. The decision was taken in yesterday's meeting at Cotroceni on the Bystroe topic, and was confirmed by the presidents of the parliamentary committees of foreign policy Radu Podgoreanu and Gheorghe Priscaru. Worth mentioning is that Priscaru said, on the other hand, that the first information on the Bystroe project existed in Bucharest as early as 1997-1998. "The then authorities were negotiating the Treaty with Ukraine and did not pay much attention. Traian Basescu, then Transport Minister, was also notified", said Podgoreanu.
