The ultimatum addressed to Ukraine has expired
The ultimatum addressed to Ukraine by the Minister of Foreign Business of Romania, Mircea Geoana, for the removal of the buoys arranged illegally on Chilia branch expired, yesterday. Ukraine ignored totally the request of Romania.
The Romanian president, Ion Iliescu, returned in the country, and the prime minister, Adrian Nastase, will consult on the necessity actions in the next period. Yesterday, the prime-minister said that Romania’s actions will be continuously firm, being based on the standards and the rules of the international rights, as transmitted Rompres.
Yesterday evening, the Government analyzed the conclusions of some meetings that took place at the level of frontier guard's forces, and the measures adopted, until now by the Romanian authorities. Adrian Nastase also announced that information concerning Bystroe canal was submitted to The Supreme Defense Council Of the County, too.
The Romanian authorities asked, many times, the Ukrainian Government to stop the canal's construction, for the realization of the study about it's impact asked by UE and by other international organizations, and to remove the buoys from Danube.
At the General meeting of ONU, the president Iliescu appreciated that it won't arrive to a military conflict.
